Eric Burtness has been many things for the past 25 years; a senior pastor, leader, lecturer, teacher, conference leader, consultant, author and Transition Life Coach. He is the Lead Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond, Oregon. See www.zionrdm.com
His B.A. is in Philosophy from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. He has two Masters Degrees from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. His Master of Divinity was earned in 1981. His Master of Theology was earned in 1991.
He has authored two books. Leading On Purpose essentially has taken some of the ideas from Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Church and developed it into a way that mainline church leaders could reorganize their congregations to be purpose driven. A Life Worth Leading takes some of Warren’s Purpose Driven Life and helps people see how they can use the five purposes to lead a more fulfilling, purposeful life.
Eric has pastored large Lutheran churches in Minnesota (Minneapolis and Red Wing), Portland, Oregon, and now in beautiful Redmond, in Central Oregon. He has found that his most rewarding time was when he was working with people in transition. Now he takes that passion and shares it with others to help pastors and church leaders successfully work through the transitions in their lives.
He has climbed Mount Hood (Oregon) and Mount Adams and St. Helens (Washington). He and his daughter have had season’s passes at Mount Hood Meado ws, and have both been certified for scuba diving. His two older boys are out of college (in 4 years!) and are in very successful careers.
Remember; change is both external and temporary. Transition is internal and depends on how you react to that external change.
Let me help you make progress one step at a time!

The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.

If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however, if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I help you become that.
